Zimbabwean artist, Leginah Ndabambi, was inspired by Amanda Gorman's poetry performance at the 2021 U.S. Presidential Inauguration.  As a result, she created tapestries which represent the historic moment and serve as a model for young women throughout Africa.  Ms. Ndabambi is a member of Heartworks Stitching Women's Collective based in Cape Town, South Africa.  Nine pieces of her tapestries are on loan from ODU Professor Jennifer Fish and on exhibit at the Barry Art Museum.  Please join us for a guided tour.

Coach Kay Yow officially founded the Kay Yow Cancer Fund on December 3, 2007, fulfilling her vision to support advanced research, extend the quality of life for those battling cancer, serve the underserved and unite people.  Coach Yow died of breast cancer in 2009 after a 22 year on-again, off-again battle with breast cancer.
